Hi there Please help. Ever since i got this new Galaxy S23 Ultra, my mic fades out frequently during calls. Mic is enabled, and battery is set to unrestricted. What seems to be causing it is that I lose the mic whenever i try to look at something else on the phone while on a call, or if the screensaver kicks in during a call. So to be clear, unless I stay in the WhatsApp on my screen and keep tapping it so the screen doesn't sleep, then i can keep my mic active. Even though caller can't hearp me intermittently, i can always hear them. This issue never happened on my old Galaxy Note9.
Hi, is this issue happening while your'e in call and trying to scroll Whatspp?
If yes, we suggest you to please perform clear cache for the Whatsapp application by going into Settings >> Apps >> Search for application "Whatsapp" >> Storage >> Clear cache.
Also, please make sure the application is updated to the latest version.
Thanks Helena, but i had already cleared cache. This issue only happens on WhatsApp calls. Regular phone calls are fine. It happens on WhatsApp regardless of whether i use the phone mic or earbuds or car
I finally solved the problem by going through all apps that had Mic permissions. The culprit was an old call recorder app that of course doesn't work but after removing it's mic permission, my WhatsApp calls are fine
