I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 smartphone and ever since I have downloaded to the lastest software I have had 2 issues:

1. WiFi authentication issue
for some reason it will kick me off my wifi and only way to get back on is to reboot my phone.
started happening different after software upgrade.
using Andriod version 7.

2. battery draining really fast lately. this is a secondary issue. the wifi is really annoying.

clear you cache in recovery mode, or factory reset if that doesn't help

Check if smart switch is on where phone auto selects faster network. Also try resetting your network settings.

I would delete your home Wi-Fi from your phone then reconnect

As @Echo mentioned, this normally fixes alot of wifi issues, just remove and forget your wifi network, even maybe clear your cache, restart your phone, and then set up your wifi again.
It should resolve the issue .

Try unplugging your Router and plug it back in 🐧

1. forgetting my Wi-Fi and re adding didn't resolve.
2. clearing my cache didn't resolve.
3. factory reset didn't resolve

same situation happening on my wife's phone. definitely a software problem. I wish I could just revert. I created a backup file before factory reset and then there was a problem with the restore. I lost everything and the problem is still around.

check your Wi-Fi band ,maybe change channels or enable/disable channel bandwidth. (20/40/80MHz)

are you on 2.4GHz or 5GHz?
