hello. fold 2 user here. aftet 2 yrs of usage, the innet screen started going black from time to time and after the recent one ui update, now the inner screen goes full black half the time.

my use case: typically use front screen to watch youtube, instagram, regulat ordinary social media stuff then open it to see it on a larger screen. these days when i open, the inner screen remains black while front screen works that i need to restart a phone to get inner screen working again.

any advice appreciated.

Hi,  we are sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue with your Galaxy Z Fold2.

We request you to perform wipe cache partition on the device and check the issue. This will not erase personal data on the phone.

1) Turn off the device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up key and the power key.

3) When the Android logo displays, release all keys ('Installing system update' will show for about 30 - 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).

4) Press the Volume down key several times to highlight “wipe cache partition.”

5) Press the Power key to select.

6) Press the Volume down key to highlight “yes” and press the Power key to select.

7) When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If that doesn't work, please perform backup and factory data reset by following the steps in the given links.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Don't think that anything you can do will fix the issue.

You can try a Factory Reset, but I don't think that'll help.

Wiping Cache would likely be a waste of time.

Visit a Samsung Service center to get it checked out by a tech.

theres def something wrong and cache wipe didnt help. screen transitions are not working well while screens on their own work ok if only that screen is used.

I did say that Wiping Cache would likely be a waste of time.

I'm virtually certain that it is a hardware problem.

Your best bet is to visit a Samsung Service center to get it checked out by a tech.

I already posted the link to locate a Samsung Service center previously.

Try to turn off Power saving and night mode. I have similar issue and it helped.
