Samsung Range NE58F9710WS/AC

Recently, while doing some baking for Christmas we noticed that the broiler element came on during the bake cycle and was red hot causing a small fire which was quickly put out but there was smoke everywhere inside the house.

I went to the U.S.  forum and noticed that I am the fourth person in the past week that has complained about this very same issue.  These are the people who have taken the time to search on the web and then actually make a report.  It makes me wonder how many other people this is happening too that have not bothered to make a report.

Every report has been responded to by a Moderator who requests the user to send a Private Message which is great but there is no follow up for us to read what the solution to the problem is??

I would like to know and I am sure others with this problem would like to know if this is a known problem with a particular "part" that is faulty or if there is a simple fix??

I was directed by the US Samsung moderator to visit this Canadian site for assistance but I see most people posting about oven problems are told to call Samsung Technical department.

I was just wondering if anyone reading this have had the same problem and then had it fixed, can you please advise what the solution was?  Faulty part that needed replacing?

This is obviously a known problem or issue within the Samsung community as there have been so many people reporting the same issue across other models of Samsung ovens regardless if they are US or Canadian models.

Please help,

Thank you,

My oven did the same thing, went through the manual and couldn’t find any help.  So I did a little research with the oven and found that for the one I have the flex duo oven, if u are cooking in the top part the oven preheats using the broiler.  This is why I would burn a casserole and not cookies. I would throw  my casserole in before preheat was done and just add a couple min to the timer and it would burn. The cookies I wanted the oven completely preheated. The oven seems to cycle between the broiler and fan to keep the oven at the right temp.   If u take the divider out and use the whole oven the broiler doesn’t come on because it heats from the bottom.   So it seems like you have to completely let the oven  preheat when using the top only with divider in.  Hope this helps.  I did let them know this should be in the manual.  Mine has been fine since I figured this out.

Report this to the Consumer Product Safety Commision as a fire hazard. If everyone does that they will force a recall.

I just had the exact same problem, my wife was baking cookies and the broiler came on and started a fire in my oven.  How have I not been notified of this problem?  This forum makes it pretty clear that Samsung knowingly let my oven catch on fire with no warning to me.  Unacceptable.  I am writing to my AG.

Ditto - burner comes on and stays on while baking. I can't use my oven safely! Please help everyone Samsung; take ownership of the issue. I have ruined birthday cakes and holiday dishes, and etc. This is very disappointing. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/home-appliances/ranges/electric/slide-in/?modelCode=NE58K9430SS/A...

I am now having this issue. Oven purchased on Jan 17, 2021, deliver 2/17/2021. Never had an issue until today. Put two cake pans in the oven, preheated on bake to 350. Less than 5 mins later, smell burning. Open the oven and smoke pours out, broiler is clearly on and bright red, oven is incredibly hot, and the cakes are burned. I have used this oven virtually every day for just a few days shy of two years and never had this happen. Samsung has clearly heard about this issue by now. We spent $1400 on an oven that we can’t use, after only two years of owning it. Unreal. Blatant safety issue and recalls should be ordered, with units replaced free of charge. Paying a $500 service call is a disgusting form of customer service. I’ll never buy another Samsung product, nor refer my friends to purchase anything either.

My oven was just used in the Bake mode to cook some breakfast rolls.  Suddenly we smelled smoke and ran to check the kitchen and found our oven was on the broil mode while showing it was in bake mode.  It had not been on more than 5 minutes but had already caught the rolls on fire and smoked up the entire house. The fire alarm was going off in 2 of 3 locations in our home.  I turned it off and let it cool and attempted to set it again in the bake mode.  Once again it showed bake but was in the broil mode.  I turned off the power to the oven and left it for a few minutes.  I repowered and tried to get it on the bake mode.  It made no difference.  The broil unit came on while the oven display was showing bake.  Need some help please?  Glad we caught it quickly before our home caught fire!!  Dangerous 😕

We got 7 years of use from our dual oven model, then the broiler began to randomly activate on convection bake or roast settings and not shut off. We have narrowly prevented fires twice. We replaced the temperature sensor and the contol board with zero effect. There is no way to predict when it will work correctly or when the broiler will set itself to cremation mode. So very frustrating.

We are experiencing the same problem. This is definitely a serious safety issue! I wonder how many people have lost their homes from this problem. We have noticed that the oven tried to reach out to our 1 iPhone to configure it. We have never used the smart feature, so why all of sudden? We tried to force a factory reset only to have the Broil feature take over again. This oven is not safe to use, we had to unplug it.

Was there any resolution to this? Lots of complaints, no real answers to what’s going on.
