Current set-up is a Q80R 65inch QLED with a HW-Q90R soundbar connected via HDMI arc. Anynet+ CEC enabled on both soundbar and TV.

After one week of use. Turning on the TV no longer turned on the soundbar and reverted back to TV speakers. If the sound bar is then turned on separately turning off the TV turns off both devices.

I attempted unplugging all cables and powering off. Turning the devices back on, plugging in HDMI cables didn't correct the problem.

I did a TV reset and the TV now turns the soundbar on again. Anyway to prevent having to reset my TV on a weekly basis.

Unfortunately, trying all combinations of “auto run last app” and “auto run smart hub” did not result in the soundbar turning on with the TV.

Any other ideas?

I know this is late but the combination of doing this and selecting the TV input on the far left of the menu bar on the tv fixed it.

Good Morning Everyone!

Looking to open this back up- I have a Samsung UP7000, Vizio M512 soundbar, and two quality HDMI cables.  I am running a Roku through the Soundbar as an eArc device.

My issue is that the soundbar will not power on when the TV is turned on IF the eArc input is selected.  It turns on as normal if the TV input is selected (similar to what others have said).

I reset my TV, enabled CEC, selected the TV input, and turned the TV off.

When I turn the TV back on with the Samsung remote, the TV comes on displaying the TV input AND the soundbar comes on also!  Perect!

Except, I have no use for the TV input.  I am running a Roku through the soundbar using eArc.

In this case, I switch to the eArc input as the video and audio source and I power off the TV and soundbar.  When I power the TV back on, I can see the Roku main screen and interface with it, but the soundbar doesn't power on.  So I need to manually turn on the soundbar and TV individually.  Upon checking, the TV sound input is switched back to TV speakers.

Does anyone have the magic formula?  I tried resets, I tried turning on/off the Smart features, I tried toggling anynet, CEC......

Help!

Bumping for attention.

Just to quickly summarize- if the last used input on my UP7000 was set to TV, the next time I turn on the UP7000, the soundbar connected to HDMI 2 (eArc) comes on as intended.

If the last used input on my UP7000 was set to HDMI, the next time I turn on the device, the soundbar connected to HDMI 2 (eArc) does not come on.

Please help 😕
