Try using Google Messages from the Play Store. That's what I use.

Hi Daisy1,

Thanks for reaching out. If you're unable to send or receive texts on the Samsung Messages app, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  • Check your network connection: Ensure mobile data or Wi-Fi is working properly.

  • Verify SIM card status: Make sure your SIM card is inserted correctly and active.

  • Clear cache and data:

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Storage.

    • Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data (note: this may reset app settings).

  • Update the app: Check the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store for any pending updates.

  • Set Messages as default:

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Choose default apps > SMS app.

    • Make sure Samsung Messages is selected.

Carrier & System Checks

  • Check for carrier issues: Contact your mobile provider to confirm there are no service outages or restrictions.

  • Software update: Ensure your device is running the latest version of One UI and Android.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to try using an alternative messaging app temporarily (like Google Messages).
