OthersHi AliceFrittoli,
The Recycle Bin in the Messages app will keep deleted messages for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
As said by Tallman if you have back up Samsung Cloud can be used to recover your messages. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Accounts and backup, and then tap Restore data under Samsung Cloud. Select your desired device, then select Messages, and then tap Restore. Tap Done when it's finished.
Thank you Tallman.

OthersAka Google vs Samsung?
Try disabling the 30 days purge then close current messages app. Then launch the other see if that gives you anything? Just a wild thought but curious.
I stand by restore from backup and fully disabling that purge after 30 days going forward.
