After a lot of research, I found that by buying the S23 Ultra directly from Samsung I could get twice as much memory as I would get through Bell or Telus or any of the big box stores, for only five dollars more per month... and that was including the extra protection plan! I was pre-approved by Paybright for up to $7000 yesterday, and since today was the final day to take advantage of the $160 discount, I decided to go for it. So far, so good!

...until I got to the payment options at Paybright.

They listed quite a number of banking institutions from which they are willing to set up auto-debits, but guess what? No option for credit unions. Considering I've set up pre-auth'd payments to a number of other businesses without any issues, I was a bit annoyed.

Still, when I was pre-approved, one of the selling features was that they could set up pre-auth payments from either a bank account or a credit card. Unfortunately, I saw no option to input my VISA anywhere... it was, "pick one of these banks," or, "cancel and return to Samsung".  Since they won't accept payment via e-transfer or online banking bill payment either, I was unable to complete the transaction.

I even tried logging in to Paybright directly, to see if I could set up auto-debits to my VISA or bank account that way, to no avail.

So: no new phone for me, no sale for Samsung, and no future transactions through Paybright, who I would have used to make other purchases as well. Very disappointing!

Did I miss something somewhere? Has anyone else who banks with a credit union managed to make a purchase through Paybright?

Hi, yes, I've noticed that as well.
When I purchased my Samsung Galaxy Note10+ when it first came out, I purchased through Samsung.ca with Paybright Financing and I used my Visa Card for my monty payments, the option was available back then. Last summer I purchased a Samsung Air Dresser, Galaxy Book 2, and Galaxy Buds and the option was gone for the Visa, I had to Finance with my Banking Institution for the monthly payments.

Really at the end of the day it's the samething, just missing out on points by not using a Visa Credit Card. I still purchased those items on sale and still Financed, still a win for me in the end. Also, a work colleague of mine brought this up to me a month ago when he wanted to upgrade his phone and did not do so for the same reason as you did not as well. It would be nice if they bring the Credit Card option back soon.

What I did with paybright for my purchase of the S23 Ultra was accept the time and amount of payments and added in my debit card since it only showed up my bank and no option for VISA.

Afterwards, when the loan agreement was done, I logged into my Paybright account and changed the pre-authorized payment info to my credit card.

Yup they change their payment options a year ago i guess.. but yas per @Deeezzyy you can still use your visa ir credit card to pay once the loan agreement was done.. just log in to your paybright account then you can change your payment options thru the site... unless.. they change it again..

If you also tried contacting their customer service i think they will give you options to pay on visa or credit card...
