After lunch, we were headed to Fira de Barcelona and this is where Galaxy Unpacked was taking place at Mobile World Congress. Once again there was a huge line to get in, but of course VIP meaning no line. We arrived at least an hour before the event started so we got to come in through the backstage, see how all of this was getting started. It was totally a rewarding experience.
Being at Galaxy Unpacked LIVE for the very first time, was truly an amazing experience. This is something I haver been watching since I believe the Galaxy S2 unpacked event. Always watching on a monitor, and for the first time I got to see it LIVE. As soon as those lights went down, and the music started playing, I was like this is it. This is the MAIN event for this trip. Besides seeing the event live, after we got to experience the Galaxy S9 hands on for the very first time. We also got to meet DJ Koh, and this was such a rewarding experience. I got to meet him personally, shake his hand and get a selfie with him. I also brought a picture of all my Samsung Products with me as I really was hoping I could get him to sign it.
Turns out, I got it!! After taking a selfie with him I asked him for a small favor, I pulled the picture out, he made it out to me and signed it. Such an amazing experience!!!
We also got to meet Dan from the Slow Mo Guys, and not to mention a lot of other famous youtubers such as Android Authority, and Phone Buff.
We got to experience all the new features of the Galaxy S9 first, including the awesome Slow Mo Cam, the AR Emoji, and even got a sneak peek of the new Samsung Dex Pad. After we left the event, we got yet another swag bag which had a beautiful selection of Olive Oils from Barcelona and some Turron which is like an almond candy bar. It was really tasty!! After the Galaxy Unpack event, we went to a nice little restaurant for Tapas. (an appetizer or snack in Spanish cuisine) we were also introduces to one of Samsung’s traditions. Every time they release a new phone or have something worth celebrating. They take shots of Soju, which is a Korean liquor. We really felt like we were part of the Samsung Family. We had all different kinds of wine including Cava which is a sparkling champagne.
Finally, after our tapas dinner, the coach bus drove us back to our hotel for the night. What an amazing day it was for all of us!!
