Others
This stove was produced in 2010 and came with the house my significant other purchased. I always keep foil on the bottom of my oven to prevent spills. Today I removed the foil to clean my oven and found this at the bottom. As stated in multiple posts prior the Enamel is cracking and flaking. From the pattern it looks like it is occurring where the coils are located. I contacted Samsung customer service and they stated they would bring a technician out to my home to fix the problem but that I would be charged due to warranty expiration. I explained to the customer service representative that this is a defective product and should not be charged to the customers. They said there is nothing the company can do. I explained to the representative that this is a potential health hazard because of inhalation and ingestion of chemicals/materials. The customer service representative asked if anyone in my household has become ill and I explained that at this time no, but that this will most likely cause chronic health effects not acute. Samsung is ignoring a huge problem that many customers are dealing with and should address the concern. This type of scenario justifies legal action against the company for not coming up with a solution besides out of pocket expenses.

OthersMy oven is only 2 years old. I never did a self cleaning or a (over use) of it. I only clean my oven by myself with products and a soft sponge.
At first I thought it was dirt and when I cleaned it I realized it was really cracked! It's just 2 years old and I have a warranty. Sadly I keep reading your comments and no one seems to get any good news about this issue. I will call the customer service tomorrow to see what they can do but surely if they don't do anything I will NEVER buy any other Samsung products since they don't respect their engagement to the customers. It's really frustrating... And also the black stainless steel look is so cheap it flakes off on some areas... Really disappointing. I will be going to my good old classics next time (Frigidaire).

OthersMy oven looks identical! So frustrating! The aluminum foil sticks to it and won’t come off easily. This is obviously a defect!

OthersI purchased mine brand new in 2020 and after the first self clean a year later the bottom of the oven started to crack and peel too. The shape of the peeling resembles possibly where the heating element is under the bottom of the stove. This is not normal. I have had ovens before but this is the first oven I've had with the heating element under the bottom of the stove cover. When I call Samsung, I get a foreign call center and they tell me because it is not under warranty and not on a recall list that there is nothing they can do. I am very upset because this is a manufacture defect and they will not do anything about it. It needs to be on a recall list. I am a crock pot and insta-pot user so the oven is not often used but once every couple months. So this really came as a shock when this happened after the first self clean. I continue to call Samsung and I get the same answers. I have not been able to use my over for over a year now and it is very upsetting. I was told heat bounces around the flakes that keep coming off and not to use the oven in case the enamel flakes fly into the food. Samsung has surely fell short on customer service and owning responsibility for such a huge defect!

OthersExact same thing happened to me after 1st clean(after owning around 3 weeks) I was told it was not covered by warranty because it’s cosmetic. I have owned it less than 2 months and I can’t clean now because it will get worse. I AM NOT HAPPY with this product or the service. I just want it exchanged

OthersI am having the same problem. Used the self clean function and the porcelain started to come off. Complained. Was told it was cosmetic. They said they’d send someone to look at it. Send pictures to the tech guy who said it wasn’t covered. Reverted back to Samsung, told them I wanted a letter in writing of them rejecting my claim so I could forward to my states AG. They said someone needs to actually inspect it, could be a manufacturing defect(no kidding) but won’t be able to provide a rejection letter until someone looks. Complained to the better business bureau. Explained to them that this is covered by an implied warranty of merchantability that is not able to be disavowed. Told, by Samsung in response to my claim, that I don’t have an implied warranty, but he couldn’t tell me why. Didn’t really seem to understand what was going on to be honest. Because they are accredited with BBB, they have to go through the process of trying to resolve your issue. So first stage, work it out ourselves is over now. Going to mediation next and maybe conditional arb after. If all else fails, taking them to small claims court, easy enough process to go through in my state. really good guide below for those that are interested. Basically, in certain states, when they sell you a stove/ good there is an implied warranty that it will work/function for a reasonable amount of time. Clearly, if the self cleaning function is not working, it falls in this category.

OthersTo follow up here, in speaking with the person assigned to my compliant from the AG’s office, she stated that we 100% have an implied warranty in my state and it is reasonable to assume this should be covered. She also mentioned that the federal agency dealing this recalls is at the below link for anyone who feels that their model stove should be recalled. Good luck!!

OthersThere is a class action lawsuit and I was to late getting in on it. It is a well known problem and Samsung states it is a cosmetic issue. I do not believe I would have spent $3200 on an range that peels. This is a well known problem!!!!!!

OthersDo you have any other info? I checked the recall registry and noticed they are not on there yet.
