I thinking about trying out Samsung pass, but I was wondering if my login info/password will be stored locally on my phone or remotely on a Samsung server? that really is a deciding factor if I would actually use the feature.

It has to be server as Samsung offers, same Samsung Pass account can be used on 5 different devices at a time. Using the same Samsung Account in additional devices will sync your saved website list and ID/passwords.

To use Samsung pass, you must first registered your biometrics informative on your mobile device to create an encryption code using your biometric information ("authentication key"). Another matching key will be saved in a secure environment on your mobile device ("private key"). When you select to log in to a third party service using your biometrics, Samsung pass will authenticate you by matching your private key n your mobile device with your authentication Key n the Samsung server.

__________

this is exactly what it says on the terms of service word for word. it's just weirded really weirdly in the last sentence especially the use of the letter "n" inbetween "private key n your mobile device" as well as "authentication key n the Samsung server"

doesn't really answer my question of if the passwords are stored on the phone locally or on Samsung servers remotely.

I thought it was saved via Samsung account which is saved in the Samsung cloud...

Quick comment - Biometrics are saved on the device for sure - if they weren't you wouldn't be able to open the Secure Folder with Biometrics when you are offline. As to whether or not they are also saved on Samsung's servers.. I haven't looked and currently not particularly interested in the details 😊🐧

Hey members, thanks for your support.
Hey @zicdeh, the information for Samsung Pass is saved in your device, and backed up in the cloud via your Samsung account. Thanks!
