Appear on Top not working DEX ONE UI 6

Since my S23 installed the One UI 6 update, "appear on top" doesn't work on DEX HDMI

I need it for displaying grids

It worked on One UI 5 and still works on my Tab S8(One UI 5)

When it was working, the grid lines would appear on the DEX(monitor) and not on the phone....now they only appear on the phone

It's the same for all grid apps that need to appear on top

I've tried every setting to no avail

I even went rolled back to 5.1 and it was working again

I contacted support about 5 times but that only goes around in circles

Any help would be great otherwise I'll have to stay with 5.1

Did you try going to Settings & Search for "Appear On Top" > Special Access & see if you Toggle ON DEX?

RedDog.....when you say toggle on DEX...is there some setting I'm missing. I have toggled on the apps in question, Grid Generator and Notebook for Golf Clash. In fact I have toggled on and off every appear on top app to no avail. Once I roll back to 5.1 the grid lines appear no problem.

I'm attaching screenshots of the problem.....perhaps you can test it yourselves

I don't use DEX, so I am only looking for what I see on my phone. 

On your phone, go to Settings & Search for "Appear" and you'll see "appear on top" & Click on it. 

 

Then you'll see the next screen shot will Special Access & "Appear On Top", click on it again, and you'll see a list of apps. Search for "DEX". I don't see it, because I'm not connected. I think that you should see it on your phone, just make sure that "Appear On Top" is Toggled ON.

I've done that and only found DEX in the system apps already toggled on. I think it's a thing with the ONE UI 6 update.....I've tried it on a few devices now

I made some progress with this! 

I updated my wifes TabS8 Ultra to ONE UI 6 and when the tablet is in DEX NEW mode, appear on top works.....but the screens stays in portrait. I can use a rotation app to force landscape on the monitor. There are 2 black lines on either side but's it's mostly full screen so works well.

On the S23 Ultra phone running ONE UI 6 there is no NEW DEX mode available...yet?!
Perhaps the next S23 update will offer the New Dex mode and the Classic Dex mode

Or even better if Appear on Top works in classic Dex mode

The New and Classic Dex modes only seem to be available on the tablets at the moment
