Backup using a SSD

Hello everyone.

I have a simple question that I cannot find an answer anywhere. I want to do my phone backup on my SSD and I would like to know if I need to restore my phone using this backup all the information will put back in the same place? 

What I mean is, the phone will look the same as before? Specially the secure folder and albums/pictures folders?

Your can backup to an SD card (either internal or OTG) with Smart Switch. It will not be the same as before as Smart Switch can't back everything up, but it will be close.

Yeah, Smart Switch is surprisingly good for backups & restore. 

I backed up my S20 Ultra to 256 Gb type C flash drive & Restored virtually everything from the OTG device.

OTG device I used, just happened to be made by Samsung.

I have used the SD card in the past until the card got corrupted. I am now backing up to the cloud and my desktop. Restoring was easy. Transferring data from old tablet to new tablet was seamless.

What file system format does the USB drive have to ne ExFAT?

My main concern is pictures and smart folder. Do you know if this is backed up using the smart switch?

Yes and also the pictures in the galery.

I am not sure about the secure folder. But I can say gallery will be restored. I used to backup my phone using smartswitch to SSD. If you want your settings backup, use Samsung account backup or Google account backup.
