SmartThings remote not responding

Starting two days ago, following a phone update (Galaxy S23) the remote control for the TV in the app has stopped responding. It opens correctly, sees my TV correctly but I can't click on anything like if the phone touch screen was suddenly disabled. I tried reinstalling the app, readding the TV, etc. to no avail. Doubt it is related to yesterday's server issues on Samsung's end since it's back online now and I still have the issue.

Try Clearing the Cache & Data for the app.. Uninstalling & Reinstalling may leave some fragments behind. 

You could also try Booting into Recovery & Wipe Cache from Recovery. 

See if either of these suggestions help?

Yes, as RedDogRabbit pointed out, sometimes uninstalling doesn’t fully reset the app.

Please try the following steps:

Clear cache & data for SmartThings: Settings > Apps > SmartThings > Storage > Clear cache & Clear data

Wipe cache partition via Recovery Mode:

  • Power off your phone

  • Press and hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears

  • Use volume buttons to navigate to Wipe cache partition, then press Power to confirm

  • Select Reboot system now

These steps can help resolve bugs after system updates. Let us know if it restores the remote functionality!
