I'm receiving notifications that come in twice for some reason and I don't know how to make to stop. Notification reminder is off, I've disabled all app notifications and restarted, cleared cache partition, ect..

I've recently moved from an S20 FE to an S23. Not sure if that's something to do with it.

I have no idea what to do about this now.

I'm on Android 14 with an S23.

Notifications from just one app? Which app(s)?

Happens with all apps. It happens occasionally but not always.

If you're using Samsung's Secure Folder, with the same apps installed inside & OUTSIDE of the Secure Folder, this could explain why you are getting duplicate Notifications.. one from the Apps inside the Secure Folder, and another one for apps outside of the Secure Folder.

That's not the case fortunately, only a select few are in the secure folder

Try the following:

  1. Boot into Recovery & Wipe Cache. See if that fixes the issue for you?

If you're still getting duplicate Notifications for multiple apps:

       2. Backup your device with Smart                   Switch & Factory Reset. When                   your device Boots to the Welcome             Screen, Set up as new, and don't               Restore anything just yet, test to               see if you're still getting duplicate             Notifications.

I'll try the reset thing as a last resort. I just updated my firmware and I want to see if it fixes it.

Thanks for the help so far!

3 hours later I still receive duplicated notifications.

I have been thinking : Could the fact that I have 2 phones with identical apps be the cause? Would I need to factory reset my old one to stop the duplicated messages?

No, I have my S20 Ultra & S23 Ultra with identical apps on both. While I do get the same Notifications on each, I don't get the same Notifications twice on each device.

I mean the most obvious reason would be if you have all the same Apps inside the Secure Folder & outside of the Secure Folder.. but you said that you didn't.

If in Settings > Advanced Settings you have "Repeat Notifications" Toggled OFF, then I can't really think of any other reasons why you would be getting duplicate Notifications..
