Galaxy SIs a Bluetooth speaker or headphones connected when experiencing this?
Is Do Not Disturb or some SLEEP setting in Alarm or Routine set for specific time frame of day that you experience this issue?
Tap the volume keys, then tap the Elipses button "... " at the top of the slider to open volume settings and see about Media volume slider.

Galaxy SIt's not in Do not disturb mode and I just checked and I don't have the sleep setting on at the moment.
I have all my sliders up in the volume settings, and can receive notifications sounds just not media sounds :(

Galaxy SOpen the Samsung Members app and Click on "Phone Diagnostics", run the Diagnostics for the Speakers. See if you get any error messages.
