Ext SSD with Tab S7 FE needs more power?

I plugged in a 512GB NVME SSD (via USB-C enclosure) to my S22 Ultra and my Tab A8 (2020) and it was mounted without any issues.

However, when I connect the same to my Tab S7 FE, I get a message "High-power USB device connected" (and doesn't mount.)

Has this happened to anyone else and/or any idea if this can be solved?

Yes I've had this message. The message is saying that your taet is not able to provide enough power to run the SSD. The work around this is to plug the USB c enclosure into a USB c dongle which has a USB c port for power so that your tablet does not need to try and power the thing.

Is there no way to increase the power that the USB C port provides? I find it odd that the Tab A8 doesn't have this issue. I will try a different enclosure and cable when I have the tablet with me on Monday.

Well, I sort of know how to circumvent the problem. In short, ironically, an SSD with a Samsung controller might not work. I tested 2 enclosures, 3 cables and 5 SSDs. Only the 2 SSDs with a Samsung controller gave me the error message.

WORKED:
Kingston NV1 250GB
SK Hynix 256GB
Timetec 512GB (not pictured)

DID NOT WORK (Both appear to have the same controller):
Kioxia 512GB (OG SSD from first post)
