Hey everyone,
I've been using my Tab S7+ for a lot of my student-needs (note-taking, document writing, you know the drill), and I love it! At the time I bought it, the keyboard cover was sitting at retail (just above $300 CAD I believe), and I couldn't justify buying it back then.
Now, seeing as the BF prices have dropped it to nearly half, I'm wondering for those in Canada who own it, did you get a bilingual keyboard layout (English/French), or a standard (US) layout?
From what I've saw, most negative reviews come from it being multilingual here or the retail price being too high, but I remember seeing some Canadians getting a standard layout keyboard...
I'm just confused on if there's a way to select a standard layout instead of a bilingual one.

EDIT: I've also never saw any pictures of this bilingual layout anywhere (even the Canadian website has the pictures as the standard layout).

HI KidI3uu, The layout of the keyboard is English but you can change between input languages using the dedicated button "Lang" located at the bottom by the side of the Space bar.

Here is a picture of my bilingual keyboard for S7+
It works the same as US layout with letters and characters in the same place as US but doesn't show properly on the keyboard for example where the question mark is on a US keyboard it is in the same place but doesn't show as being the question mark on the key.
There are a few keys that way.
Not a big deal if you know what is supposed to be for that key and not what it says

Exactly.. except I Don't "Know" what is "supposed" to be there. Sometimes I'll type something and "know" where the key is - as I did just now with the quotes.. which came intuitively, but there are symbols I CANNOT find such as the 'pound' symbol. It is on the key beside 1, but no matter what I do I can't get it to type. This is what I get instead lc ` which is supposed to be the back slash or pound symbol.. and uppercase I get ~ instead of the vertical bar which is displayed. I get that the ` symbol is the back accent mark for French e` or whatever??
It is really annoying. I have passwords with the pound symbol that I CANNOT enter on this keyboard.
Just because ONE province in Canada is French, why does Samsung assume everyone in Canada knows how to type with a French keyboard when they are typing in English??
I constantly have to go back to my desktop computer to finish a task, which is not always possible... which is why I got this tablet WITH the keyboard for when I'm on the road..
I have tried changing the "language" of the keyboard, but that doesn't seem to change anything.
I have the same keyboard as Ray2. Is there a way to swap this with Samsung??

Not sure which language you have your keyboard set to but I tried Canadian English once and was totally confused so just went to US English keyboard and then everything is where it is on your computer keyboard.
It is dumb as you say that we get saddled with this keyboard because of one province that is French.
As for the pound key if you have your keyboard set to US English Qwerty it is in the exact same place as a computer keyboard which is Shift + 3 even though that is not what the key says🤣

Still grappling with the "bilingual" keyboard.. the symbols seem to be for French and do not display the "English" characters... I usually can type by "memory" and get the right punctuation keys, but there are some I just cannot seem to find.. Which I need for some passwords where I have used a special character.. but when using the tablet I have no way of finding.. It's so frustrating. I wish there were some stickers I could put on the keys to show me where the "English" special characters actually are.

I had the same problem.  On my S7 FE what solved it was to go in to settings, general management, keyboard, and tap Samsung Keyboard settings and change the language to Francais (CA).  All of the keys work properly displaying the characters as desired.
