Timezone Not Updating

I have a Galaxy s8 tablet that has timezone set to automatically update when I change a zone. However, it does not, I still need to manually change it when I have changed a time zone. We have two identical tablets and the other tablet works just fine - on the surface it appears both devices have the same settings. I am wondering if there is a permission that I am missing, or another setting that is less than obvious that needs to be changed.

I am considering a full reset of the device and a methodicaly reinstall of the apps to see if that corrects the problem.

Had this issue for as long as I have had tab s7+. Please fix

Samsung s7 here. Same issue. Really not good enough.

Same problem on S6 Lite tab. Rebooted, checked location on, auto timezone update. Google maps showing correct location. It's not a 4g device, but still should update timezone.

The same problem here in the S23 Ultra and it led me to miss an important meeting, terrible experience.
Tried:

  • Restarting the phone
  • Clearing data of the clock app & Bixby (clears all your alarms)

 

Update (Fixed):

Setting the timezone to another country in the same timezone fixed it

If setting the time zone to a different country fixed it for you, sounds like a Carrier issue.
