I'm using a Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020, SM-T307U). As it is a device released in March 2020, I know that it is guaranteed to receive 3 updates. But still my device is stuck in Android 11 (One UI 3). Some devices have already received the One UI 5 update, but my device has not yet received the One UI 4.1 update. When will my device get the One UI 4.1 update? Android 11 is buggy and stuttering too much.

From the model number, looks like you have a US device, which would explain why you haven't received any updates.

You probably have to use either a US SIM, or Flash the device Manually with Odin.

If you're in Canada, did you purchase it from Amazon or Ebay?

This device was purchased in Canada. The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 was released in both the US and Canada.

I understand that you purchased the device in Canada, but the model number, SM-T307U, with the "U" indicating that it is a US device, vs a "W" if it was a Canadian device.

So I'm thinking that you purchased it from Amazon, Ebay or a private seller.

Just because the device is sold in both countries, doesn't change my advice.

Samsung sells all the same devices in Canada & the US, but the IMEI number governs how you get updates.

Your device has an IMEI that is not recognized by Canadian Carriers.

So, US SIM, or Flash the Updates manually with Odin.

G'day, 2day I've bought 1 of these Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 2020 T307U Tablets w/ the intention of Updating the OS to @ least Android 12 or Better 13 via a GSi, having Researched it's Project Treble Capability.

1st there wasn't a DSU loader in Developer Options az there was supposed 2 be, but I was able 2 install it ( Actually DSU Sideloader ) from the Aurora Store, but then it Reported that DSU Sideloader iz Unsupported, because your Device does not support Dynamic Partitions ( DSU requires dynamic partitions ). What can I do? Please!

2nd it's Still on Android 10 & won't even Update OTA to Android 11 az it should according 2 gsmarena.

Please Help!

;-)K

AFAIK there's no Root, no Custom Roms, no TWRP Recovery for this device.

Project Treble was a nice idea, but doesn't look like it's actually anything that "puts the rubber to the road".

If the device was scheduled for Android 11, you probably have two choices:

  • a) Factory Reset & See if you get the update.
  • b) Download the stock Samsung Firmware based on Android 11 to your computer & Flash it with Odin.

It doesn't look like the device received much attention from Developers & likely because it doesn't support Custom Roms.
