WearablesThe Galaxy Watches use pulse light pass through your skin to see your blood so that the watch can measure heart rate and blood pressure...etc. Also the sensors rely on this to tell the watch if user wear the watch or not. This apply to Apple Watch too.
Tattoo ink usually with dark colors and this can causing pulse light cannot pass through and no pulse light reflection to Watch. That's why the watch may not work properly and not detect while you are wear it. Wear on the hand that do not have tattoo, I think this is the only workaround.

WearablesI'm having the same issue bro. It's so annoying. I don't get it. My Galaxy watch 3 did not do this and I've had the same tattoos on my wrists for years. They took out the wrist detection option. Which is dumb. And on top of that the watch 3 and watch 4 have both the same notification options turned on and I still get nothing of it's sitting on my tattoo. And both my wrists are tattooed. They need to release an update where it can by pass it.

WearablesI'm begging for this option. My only option is to wear the watch whmith the watch on the inside of my wrist...... Not ideal.
Please Samsung make an option to bypass the wrist detection.

WearablesI am having the same issue, I thankfully have found a spot on my wrist where there is a small gap that I can wear the watch on. They need to release something that allows the watch to ALWAYS get notifications unless the setting is turned off. I am currently experimenting with some different possible temporary fixes to this such as clear tape, prism tape, etc. But this should be fixed by Samsung. I called and complained as well as opened a case with Samsung to find a resolution to this as well 😞

WearablesI am having the same issue as well. I currently have a Galaxy watch 4 classic and it will not vibrate while on my wrist. If I put the watch on anyone else without tattoos it works perfectly. If I hold it in my hand it works. I've had every galaxy watch and they've all worked perfectly. This doesn't make sense. I've tried everything under the sun including exchanging the watch thinking it was busted. Alas, it's not just me....

WearablesOh it's an absolutely known issue. Every single Samsung watch I've owned (like 5 or 6 before this one) allowed us the option to have notifications come through even if the watch wasn't being worn. Samsung chose to remove that setting on the GW4. I was promised it would be fixed in an update, but that could be this week or next year. Why they chose to do away with a simple setting like that is anyone's guess. In the meantime both my new GW4's are just expensive paper weights. The always on display doesn't work or any notifications. Just a black screen always. The most aggravating part is in the notification settings it tells you alarms and reminders will come through even if you're not wearing the watch. The software is there, they just decided to not allow the paying customer the option to allow ALL notifications to come through when you're not wearing the watch. I mean some people may want their watch on the desk/ nightstand and would still like to see the notifications. C'mon Samsung, you've got loyal customers waiting on a simple fix that shouldn't have ever been removed in the first place.....
