What you need to know

  • Developers have found an exploit in the U.S. variants of the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 9 that allows for these devices to be rooted.
  • - However, it only works if you have specific Android versions and firmware installed.
  • - It does not void the phone's warranty, though.

Not sure @makeanimationssmooth. They are clear that you need to be on Oreo. They need to get TWRP working to allow you to be on 10 Q and have root.

I'm not allowed to root. I have to but bell beleives they own me. They have taken away all my rights as a citizen of the country. I have to root. For privacy reasons.

I'm asking this question seriously, so please feel free to answer honestly. As far as I knew rooting made sense when our devices had a lot of bloat wear and were slow but is there really any benefit to it now? I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand.

of course, with rooting, you can find yourself in a new world of plentiful features and software hacks. For example, you can add your own custom skin besides One UI or customize phone settings such as edge lighting
