Can't take screenshot on Galaxy A12

Taking screenshot is not possible on Galaxy A12. When one press the volume down and power simultaneously, it is the power options that come up. Any solution?

I can't thank to enough for your help. I've looked at everything,  and of course I know how to take a screenshot but even the customer service was trying to get me to reset things on my phone but on this phone the a12 you have to push the volume button and power button quickly not the normal screenshot button presses but fast you save me from going back to the stor

Im struggling to do screenshots on my a12 when i do the buttons it say it goes to the screen  turn off reset ect  why is this

Because you HAVE to VERY QUICKLY Press & RELEASE BOTH buttons at the SAME time.

You could try Palm Swipe if it's available on your device, or you could download Screen Master from the Play Store. It's very easy to use, & puts a small, fully customisable "button" on the screen. You just have to touch it to take a screen shot.
