Probably for good reason, what do you think about that

Some (most) phones nowadays come with pre-installed apps and programs which are necessary to ensure your phone runs properly. In some (most ) cases changing or removing these can affect the functionality of your device. Think of it like taking the spark plugs out of your car . The car won't run without them.

Actually, the unlocked phone I have from the States though works fine in Canada; however, I am not able to completely shut its T-Mobile app--and God knows what kind of data it is collecting on me. Not that I mind, but I paid good amount of $ to get it unlocked from them, so I deserve the right to disable their bloatware such as, T-Mobile Members, T-Mobile, Hot-Spot, T-Mobile TV apps. Which I am unable to do. Their settings always change, and all kind of permissions are granted. It's RIDICULOUS!

Also, how does Facebook is an essential app on a phone? You can disable it, but not uninstall. This tells how important data-mining is. It tells your future, and the future sales from you--no company would want to let that go, so they bed with other tech-giants who are willing to share data on consumers. We think privacy is our right, but in reality, it's long taken away--and has become just a myth.

I agree. Data mining is an intrusion on your privacy and its sad that money talks louder than your personal rights.
Yes you can disable apps but it doesn't remove them and they can still take up space in your phone.
I've noticed that once I have disabled an app, sometimes it will then let me uninstall it while it's disabled.

Wow. Lucky you. Mine just reverts the privacy settings I had set for them. They want to access my phone, contacts, camera, location... i mean, give me a break! I already share my data with most services and brands I am part of, but can't allow some T-Mobile brand I never used or interacted with. Google and Samsung should do something about these intrusive apps. Their store apps should have complete control over how to get rid of these apps if a user wishes to delete them.

Hi SamSungtwo,
The Android media router framework enables media app developers and media playback device manufacturers to connect through a common API and common user interface. App developers that implement a MediaRouter interface can then connect to the framework and play content to devices that participate in the media router framework. Media playback device manufacturers can participate in the framework by publishing a MediaRouteProvider that allows other applications to connect to and play media on the receiver devices.
As mentioned by SCH1, pre-installed apps and programs are necessary to ensure the device runs properly. So it needs to grant the permissions by default.

Is this a necessary app? What would be lost without it.

I don't use a media router so this app is not required in my case, correct?

Since I do not use this product why is data transferring this app?
