Goodmorning all. I've gota Samsung NP750XED-KB1CA  Galaxy book 2 15.5  S/N-KS0B99YT400008R and I love it, bit I hate Microsoft! I just found out that Google Chrome has a Chrome OS browser. I know that Samsung  has a Chrome book, but when I bought my Galaxy book 2, I knew nothing about Chrome OS, but for me, I feel this would be better fo me as I have used both Google and Google Chrome as browsers since they began.  FYI,  I've been using computers since the 90's when we still used DOS. I've alway hated how MSN can & dies change browsers whenever Windows is updated.  I for one don't like a cluttered browser home page & with Google, I have the choice to what besides the word "GOOGLE" appears on the page. Also due to my age (76), I'm starting to have problems with remembering so many passwords and MSN seems to reqige a change ever time I sign in. Nothing real too wrong with my brain but I don't have a photographic memory or what have you, but MSN does not allow Google to make use of their password manager.
Anyway my question is is my laptop's setup able to install Chrome OS?
Bythe way you kats are the best! I may have no problems setting up any kind of Audo/video equipment including my most recent & expensive toy, (Sony BDP-CX7000ES 400 disc multi changer) loads both Blu-ray, DVD's & CD's. I don't use it for video only audio as have more than one thousand CDs but have loaded al my Brit rock (including ever album Queen had released) /Rockabilly & blues, my 3 fav genres.
Hope y'all can help me as I'd really can't afford at this time to buy another laptop (I have 3, mynew Samsung and 2 17.3" from Asus. 1 of which is old enough to have a disc drive.). Once again thanks. Cheers Oldbroad Angela 🇨🇦

If I remember right I think you can change to pin just from choices where you put in your password to sign into your computer

If not click on your Start Menu icon, Choose Settings, Accounts, Sign in Options and you can change to a Pin on the screen that comes up

Android is based on Linux.

You can run Linux on a Chromebook. You can turn it on in Settings, but it's off by default.

You can also run Linux on a Windows pc, in WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux).

It really depends on what your objectives are.

Do you want to write code for Linux, or use Windows programs?

You should be able to run Chrome OS Flex on your Windows computer.

Here's the XDA link explaining how to do it:

https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-chromeos-flex-on-an-old-laptop/#:~:text=Most%20older%2....

If you simply want to "Factory Reset" your Windows computer & run Windows.

There's a couple of ways to do it:

  • Go to Settings > System Recovery and near the top you'll see "Reset This PC".
  • From Powered Off > Power on your computer & As it's Booting click the F8 key repeatedly, and you should then Boot to the Recovery Menu.
