Goodmorning all. I've gota Samsung NP750XED-KB1CA  Galaxy book 2 15.5  S/N-KS0B99YT400008R and I love it, bit I hate Microsoft! I just found out that Google Chrome has a Chrome OS browser. I know that Samsung  has a Chrome book, but when I bought my Galaxy book 2, I knew nothing about Chrome OS, but for me, I feel this would be better fo me as I have used both Google and Google Chrome as browsers since they began.  FYI,  I've been using computers since the 90's when we still used DOS. I've alway hated how MSN can & dies change browsers whenever Windows is updated.  I for one don't like a cluttered browser home page & with Google, I have the choice to what besides the word "GOOGLE" appears on the page. Also due to my age (76), I'm starting to have problems with remembering so many passwords and MSN seems to reqige a change ever time I sign in. Nothing real too wrong with my brain but I don't have a photographic memory or what have you, but MSN does not allow Google to make use of their password manager.
Anyway my question is is my laptop's setup able to install Chrome OS?
Bythe way you kats are the best! I may have no problems setting up any kind of Audo/video equipment including my most recent & expensive toy, (Sony BDP-CX7000ES 400 disc multi changer) loads both Blu-ray, DVD's & CD's. I don't use it for video only audio as have more than one thousand CDs but have loaded al my Brit rock (including ever album Queen had released) /Rockabilly & blues, my 3 fav genres.
Hope y'all can help me as I'd really can't afford at this time to buy another laptop (I have 3, mynew Samsung and 2 17.3" from Asus. 1 of which is old enough to have a disc drive.). Once again thanks. Cheers Oldbroad Angela 🇨🇦

There are some programs that are not compatible to run on Chrome computers.

You should look into whether or not the programs you want to run will work before you go out and buy one of these devices

Pretty sure that you can't run Odin on Chromebook.. if that's important for you... It is for me.

Also I think that to run Windows programs, you need to run Remote Desktop..

I'd personally never get a Chromebook.

Not sure why you are having problems with MSN on your windows computer

I am thinking maybe it is something that you might have subscribed to at one time because I see nothing from MSN on my windows computers

Please describe what you are seeing that is bothering you and maybe we can help you get rid of it

If I remember right I think you can change to pin just from choices where you put in your password to sign into your computer

If not click on your Start Menu icon, Choose Settings, Accounts, Sign in Options and you can change to a Pin on the screen that comes up

OK! I'll look into Linus. I don't have a Chrome book. My laptop is a Samsung galaxy book 2, but I'm fed up with MSN , not Windows. If I could always use Windows with Google & cut off Microsoft, I'd be a very Happy old Kitten. I really do love all that Samsung's Galaxy Book 2 15.5" has going fo it! As an Oldbroad, the only change that I'd like would be a 17.3" screen. May I'll load Linus onto my Asus as well as Samsung Galaxy.
Want to thank all of you & please consider this query solved! Don't see a button to do that. Cheers Oldbroad Angela 🇨🇦

I think that is my fault. Mistaken MSN & Microsoft as same. It is Microsoft that I want to eliminate! Just because they own Windows, they think that they can run my computer as they please! Microsoft changes my search engine each & every time I update my computers & laptops, from Google/Chrome to Bing, then I have to go to settings and change Google/Chrome back to default. Bing and all the other search engines, including Google hare far to cluttered on thier home pages. If I want a bunch of cruddy stupid news (mostly false), I'll turn on the TV. Also every time I login to windows I asked for a password but when I put it in they say I need to change it but wont alliw me to use a password that I have had years before or won't allow Google to put the password on Google's password manager. I have some of the tope security on my devices and except for a bad **bleep** on FB that almost cost me $500.00 billed to that Social media sitetha the kids all use these days, also had no access to my bank account for 2 weeks until my bank & Google pay got it sorted. After that I cancelled all social media accounts except for my biker & modeler forums. When I open up my computer, it s for a reason, not to play stupid games (except Solitaire, Bubble Shooter or Mahjong) or hear gossip. For me the computers are for accounting, research or the like. My tinkering in my yard or on my bike/car, keeps my mind & body as active as a 75 yrs young woman needs. Oh don't forget the 3 or 4 hrs/day that I listen to my R&R, Rock & other Groovy music from the 50's-90's. Thanks Ray R for pointing out the misunderstanding of mine with Microsoft and MSN. Ha Ha - yes it is Microsoft that is causing you your frustration.

The changing of the google search engine problem is one I have struggled with in the past that I never found a solution to and finally just let Bing be the search engine. I don't know of a way to not have it changed everytime they do an update.

The password problem is also one that I have run into.  You could try changing the settings to putting in a Pin (group of numbers that you can remember) instead of a password.

For me using a Pin seems to have stopped the nagging of having to change my password as they don't seem to think you need to change your Pin all the time

Oh I'm well aware of what a pin is . If I could figure out how to use my pins instead of passwords I would. I use a screen lock on my phone as well as PayPal and my banking works great & much faster, but nnot all sites give the option. Thanks guys and gals if there are any, for all your help. Will look into one of the othe OS providers. Athought I am use to using Windows it's not the end all & be all in computing. There's always Apple....... heaven forbid, 😒🤪YUCKK!!!!!😹😹😺
