Common ! The only item in the phone that would possibly explode would be the battery and more than likely it would catch on fire.
What items in your house did it destroy?

Was it being charged at the time?

ya it's hard to say, it could be something as simple as a deteriorated charging cable, maybe a charging brick that's to powerful. possibly just a flaw in the battery.

These cases always amazing me... I remember reading a story about someone charging a phone in there car in plus 30 c weather without the car moving and blame the phone... In my eyes that's the user fault lol not company.

I'm sure some cases aren't user fault but that's just an example.
