Guess that you could pray that Samsung realizes the stupidity of removing the external sd card slot, and brings it back in the S23 series, although that might be unlikely..

Even though there's no headphone jack, USB C adapter does work.

If you plan on getting a new device, might want to order a charging block & USB C adapter at the same time.. you know, for "environmental reasons" 😉

Personally I'm going to hang on to my S20 Ultra Snapdragon for a while, BECAUSE of the external sd card slot.. Samsung stop removing stuff!!

Thank you for the advice. Expandable storage they will remove and make money on different storage models cause that's good for their business. But yes headphone jack is love and I wish all phones have it tho.

In my opinion, I do missed 3.5mm jack and SD Card from previous phones. However, I always look forward. I tried wireless bluetooth earbuds, found that it is not too bad, compare to my wired headset. Of course big different to my wired BOSE headset. So, if you are using a portable wired headset, most BT earbuds already pretty good now.

For the missing SD card slot. Yes, it is inconvenience when transferring data if you keep data on SD card only. However, I recently upgraded to S22, I found that if data keep in internal storage, video recording or burst shots are faster and smoother compare to store in SD card. Also, this fixed having 2 same folders name, one in SD card and another same folder name in internal storage.

So...if you think you can adapt new change quickly, new phone should have no problem to you.

If you jump from Note9 to S22U, you will find a lot of new features and you should love it. More Camera features, new display refresh rate, new SPen features, and more.

The only thing I cannot say is...battery. Different people has different usage. Also depends on environment. Use my case to determine if this suit for you. I use my S22U 90% for business only. Email, Calendar, Phone, SMS, Internet browsing, GPS Google Map, DeX, Microsoft RDC, VPN, remote file access. I charged my phone 1 hour before I went to sleep. 100% in the morning around 7am, after a day of work, my phone still have 50%+ about 9pm at night. I don't watch Netfix, play games...etc during Mon-Fri. I found that the battery is very good compare to Note20U.

Hope my experience help you make your choice.

Not to take anything away from what you are saying, but I resent that it is the consumer who has to accommodate the manufacturers.

Of course internal storage will always be faster than an external sd card, but the external sd card serves as an immensely useful & important tool for me. Whether it's secure backup (Cloud storage isn't always), convenience for "on the fly" backups regardless of network connections.

For me the external sd card is definitely not about storage space, not when you can get 1 TB of internal storage.

If there's any legitimate reason for removing hardware, then they should take the time to justify their decisions.

I've heard that the headphone jack was removed for the ip68 certification, but what about the SIM card slot?

While the consumers don't have a vote on the Board of Directors, we can still "vote" with our money.

Looking back, at what Samsung has removed in the way of hardware, it is kind of unfortunate.

Notification LED, Headphone jack, HR Sensor, External sd card slot & even the Charging Block for "environmental reasons"... What is going to be removed next? 🙄

I've said it before, (I'm not the only one), but Samsung is becoming more like the fruit company, and doing the very things that Samsung criticized, and made fun of.

I'm not remotely interested in my comments, or opinions being "taken as feedback", that, here at least means nothing to me.

I don't get why Samsung is abandoning the features that made them unique..

You are right. But manufacture never ask consumer if they want to keep the features or not.

Like I hate the car manufactute using buttons for P/R/D. They removed the shift gear. All I can do is adapt the change. Is a trend.

I never try to change you guys thinking. If you guys don't like the change, keep your phones. I just saying that I tried the new phone and I can adapt the change. Not a huge issue to me.

Yes adapting isn't the issue. Trying to drive home the point that WE should not HAVE to.

If there's a technical reason, why a manufacturer needs to change / remove something, explain it.

If it's purely motivated by profit, then yeah, absolutely resentment kicks in.

Galaxy Note
Same as Apple, when they removed headphone jack, they never explain. You can keep asking for the reason. But I don't think you will get an answer.

I have the Note 20 ultra and love it, first note device. Usually I upgrade almost every yr, but I held off the S22 because of the lack of SD card support. I'm hoping next set of devices Samsung adds it back
