I'm having my SD card act a bit weird on my Note 10+. I've used many Samsung phones in the past and never had this issue.
I'm having my SD card not recognized by some apps, and also the system it seems in some cases.
As for the system there's 2 things I've noticed:
1. The path \android\data\
On the SD card is completely empty. On my S20 and other phones this directory is used by many apps to store information
2. The path for the SD card is not in the directory tree that shows up within some apps. Some apps recognize the SD card and it's folders, but not in apps that use the directory tree. I did manage to find out what my SD card's path name is using a 3rd party file manager and then manually put the path name in some of the apps using directory trees.

For apps:
See #2 above

Also some apps that would normally default to saving data to the SD card (such as offline files for Google Translate) do not go to the SD card.

I have an s20 I'm using right now as well with none of these issues.

Both phones have latest updates. I've done cache clear in boot up menu, formatted SD card using this phone.

Thanks for any help!

actually looking at my s20 now it's the same as note 10, nothing in that folder.

for the folder, you can find the SD card path in the folder pane. copy it from root directory. when you have an app that shows the directory tree go to root "\" and paste the SD card's path

For your question#1. From Android 11, the path \Android\data is not available to access due to Google change their security. But if you search 3rd party apps from Playstore, some file browser allow to browse to that path.

Thank you Tallman for your information.
Hi aldel99,
Please follow the suggestions provided by Tallman and check the folder location.

Some odd behaviour now. My S20 now has a folder \android\android\data on the SD card. This folder has all the usual things that would have been in the \android\data folder (I see this through stock file browser)
No updates done, although I did do a cache partition wipe in boot menu recently
My Note 10+ I also did cache partition wipe but it still has nothing in the \android\data folder
