These are my personal thoughts that I have experienced with the new One UI update.

Pros:

Battery Life - I've noticed a change in the battery life of my Note 9 ever since I updated to the new One UI.. and that change is that the battery life has improved. Now don't get me wrong the battery life has been nothing but impressive. But now it's even better. There are some days where I don't really use my phone.. just sits there.. before the update lets say the battery was at 98%.. it would drop about 10-14% by the end of the day with limited usage. Now it only drops about 3-6%.. that's impressive.

Design - I thought I wouldn't like it the change.. but I really do. Even the clock being moved to the far left is something I like.

Speed - Apps seem to load quicker.

Cons:

No More Auto-Hide for the Nav Bar - I always liked the fact that the Navigation Bar would auto-hide in all apps, plus it was transparent. Now in apps like Coloring and Chrome it's always there and its white. So you can accidentally hit a button when you are using the Coloring App.. which is highly annoying

Split-screen Control was hard to find: I had to use good ol' Google to help me find out how to use split screen in Android Pie... it's stupid how you now have to click on the apps icon to find it. Not a good move IMHO.

As you can tell I am not a professional reviewer.. lol..

So what are you pros and cons?

You mean rotate between landscape and horizontal? Like this:

Hitman, before the pie downgrade all you had to do was press and hold the left button and presto! a split screen sized 50-50. Now you must hold the app icon, scroll down to the split option, click it, then choose a second app. Navigation between screens is difficult and often glitches. What used to happen with one touch now takes lots and has a rough transition. I have often lost an app altogether in the process. This has, for me, turned Note 9 into a piece of 💩.

@Canadianhitman naw , there use to be an interface that separated the two applications and with in that interface you have a set of functions that controlled how the split screen would operated with each other. All of that functionality has been removed and nothing set in its place.

ok awesome thanks. the way I read Denz comment was it wouldn't switch to landscape in split screen.

Hoping that the return of the plugins will rectify the functions.

Woah! That's seriously lame! I've been wondering what the fallout would be if I just didn't update. 🤫

I miss the custom navbar courtesy of Good Lock and being able to drag any screen from the corner inwards to enable pop up view. Other than that battery life hasn't changed and the new layout is more intuitive than anything else.

Yeah I love that feature to get popup view quickly.

Man, wondering if I should delay One UI on my Note 8...

Never update a Samsung device until you know which features will be downgraded.
