(1) this is a high end phone without the ability to add a hotspot quick key?
(2) has a wonderful button for the user manual that doesn't exist?
(3) if you set the phone up without a sim card (using wifi) adding the sim card later erases the phone.

come on Samsung how can you let this happen?

Hotspot QS Tile, along with mobile data QS Tile were removed by carriers. There is an ADB command to restore it

3- That's how CSC setup works, unfortunately. Normally the device should prompt you to insert your SIM card before proceeding. If it doesn't, then it should be implemented back like it was before (at least on MM it did)

Your samsung member has a tab called support. That is your user manual. If you don't find answers, live chat option is also available.

1) Carriers have disabled Data & Hot Spot Toggles - There's a tutorial on how to use adb commands to help you.

2) User's manual is available - Google Search will find it - But here's the link:

3) Yeah it's a pain that many people have experienced - Live & Learn 🐧

I agree wholeheartedly that #3 should not happen. Set up my new Note 9 last night with Smartswitch and kept my SIM in my Note 8 in case I received an important call. When I was finally done the transfer and set up I switched my SIM and boom get an erasing message!!?? No prompt screen asking if I want to delete my hours worth of work? Nope! Was not happy. This shouldn't happen. Please fix!

Yes that is exactly what I did. I don't get why anything should be erased it's my data.

(1) well I bought an unlocked phone directly from Samsung. so how could a carrier remove it? oh yes during the CSC. That should be illegal

Where would I find this ADB command to have it added again?

3) not only is that a pain everytime I switch sims it's going to erase my phone. that's draconian

As for changing SIMs - It's ONLY the first time - After that you can change the SIM without your device doing a Factory Reset. ie: changing SIMs after the initial install will NOT wipe the device.
