Issue just started yesterday. Phone got stuck in a reboot loop which didn't allow me to do anything. Happened overnight while charging it using my Samsung wireless puck charger that I've used since my previous s7 edge. Woke up to it rebooting so I'm not sure how long it was cycling.

I entered recovery mode and did a full system factory reset which wiped everything out. Upon boot up the screen kept freezing leaving the touch screen useless. Also getting lines all over my screen (see attached) Eventually it started working normally but now. Everytime I try to use the edge screen it freezes and edge app always shuts down. I also double checked and installed is he most current version.

Anyone have any issues like this? Any suggestions? Forgot to mentioned that the phone is in perfect condition. Never dropped.

My phone is still under warranty so last. Resort. Is bring it to Samsung.

Thanks! 229014ea-1324-4ee7-979d-67f90c6de178.jpg

I don't know if I've seen any reports of the latest Firmware causing Reboots - And you followed the appropriate steps to rule out other issues - The thing that would concern me the most is the screen issue - That might suggest a hardware issue?
The only other thing short of taking it in to a Samsung Service Center that I would try is to Boot into Safe Mode and see if you have the same problems... but I'm kinda doubtful that will make much of a difference... Especially since you performed a Factory Reset...... For what it's worth you could also try running the Diagnostic test found here on Samsung Members app.. 🤞

Seems to me like a GPU issue that cannot draw properly. That happens to my laptop a lot (those little weird glitches then after the iGPU quits on me, then the dGPU quits and I'm left with nothing, then computer ceases to work until the Microsoft Basic Display Driver kick in)

Android does not have a "basic display driver" when the GPU has a problem which means it has no backup solution other than reboot, maybe that's your problem. I would advise to go to a Service Center. Nothing one can do can corrupt the GPU drivers (or maybe the GPU itself got damaged).

Maybe.... you could try to flash manually the latest firmware. If as I said it is a software/GPU-related issue, that should fix it

That definitely looks like a hardware issue. Seen something similar with my other brother's Note 2 a few years ago and it eventually fried and died needing a replacement. In this case it was the motherboard that ended up dying.

But his just had random reboots (no boot loop)and graphical glitches like yours. But the graphical glitch eventually went full blown on the entire screen and died. This definitely does not look good and should be physically inspected.

if you can login and if you want you can check system logs.

dial *#9900# and have fun.

it's good because it gives you the chance to identify the cause of failure.

to me, this looks like a bad connector from perhaps a drop (despite ur claims)

Casey Niestat droped his note 8 and got the same screen flicker problem but more pronounced, could have dislodged a connector or two.

Hey @lesstar, could you please contact your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/servicelocation/) for physical inspection of your device? Thanks!
