Is it possible to save text message to a file? There are many messages in the one I want to save, and there are photos and videos too.

Any suggestions?

I don't think you can save all messages in one file. You can only forward or email the message one by one. Unless someone has better solution.

Hi @Janmatt, to save photos and videos you can go into the specific message thread > tap the three horizontal line menu icon (top right) > go to pictures and select the photos you would like to save. You can also save the pictures and videos by long pressing the message that it is included in and selecting "save attachments". To save the actual text of the message, you can only copy the text and again, long pressing the message, copying it and pasting it into a text file.

Here's a tip I've used to save complete text threads for real estate clients. Install Textra messaging app and let it do its thing after installing. You'll then have the ability to email complete text threads and save externally.

Thank you, Moderator- I have saved the pictures and videos but would like to save the whole message thread as a file. Have started copying the texts one by one I to a Word document. Was hoping there was an easier way!

I see Yielar has suggested an app called Textra so i will have a look at it. Thank you, Yielar!

lots of 3rd party apps can do this for you. a simple Google search will help you find what your looking for.

If anyone else is looking for a solution to this issue, I used "Legal Text Collector" and it did what I needed it to do.

Thanks, everyone!

If you want to save the messages use Samsung cloud backup, make sure messages is turned on before you assume it will back up everything. Maybe this way will suit your needs and you won't need a second app to drain battery & cause you to learn how to use the 3rd party app. 8ed5bdac-17e8-4d71-bf8e-4cda401caf72.jpg
