I have Galaxy Note 10 plus and my Samsung Notes version is 4.2.06. I use screen-off memo a lot. Recently, I have started to face an issue where if my screen times out while using my screen off memo, I cannot go back to the notes that I have already written in the screen-off memo. Earlier, in such scenario I just used to tap on the off screen while pressing the pen button to re-open the screen-off memo and continue with my notes. But recently when I do that, it just deletes my existing memo and start a fresh screen-off memo. I am a note user since Note 8 and this issue never happened before. Please advise how to fix this.
Perhaps try to clear data and cache for the Note app and see if it helps.
Open Settings → Apps → Samsung Notes→ Storage
click clear data and clear cache
This will reset your Notes customised settings, but all your Notes will not deleted. If you still worry, make a sync backup first, then perform above suggestion.
