 "Fingerprint sensor is not responding" 

 
 

 I'm not sure if I need to completely replace it or if there is another fix. 

 

 But most importantly, I have a lot of info/data saved to my fingerprint. 

 

 How can I access them now?... 

 

 also need to add that I dont see "fingerprint" in the system apps. 

 

 I dont know how to reinstall/recover it

If fingerprint not working, the phone should ask for PIN#. You forgot your PIN#‽

it doesn't ask me for pin or pattern. it only gives fingerprint option

Try put some cream on your fingers and see if it works.

My phone does ask for PIN after couple failures. Sounds like your fingerprint read totally not working.

How about restart your phone? When your phone boot up, you need to unlock your phone by PIN or password.

after restarting, it always asks to use pattern first.
I'm looking online for solutions, I might need to either reinstall the fingerprint system app...or change the sensor.

Ok, pattern is fine. After unlock your phone, you can disable or re-add finger prints from settings and you won't lock out.

I can disable it, but doesn't let me re-add fingerprints, says "fingerprint is not responding and if persists to restart phone". which ultimately doesn't do anything

How about go to Members app → Get Help → interactive check→ Fingerprint

I just tried that.
Doesn't even react to my fingerprint.
so, I'm left with 2 options (I think):
1. reinstall the fingerprint system app (still trying to figure it how)
2. run a calibration check to see if it's possible hardware issue.

unfortunately, the method I know for calibration check isn't work (dial *#0*)
so I'm searching for alternatives
