Small circle with X inside at bottom of screen

Probably once a week or more a small white circle with an X inside it appears at the bottom of the screen. There is nothing to indicate a cause, it cannot be dismissed, and this time went away about five minutes after it appeared as mysteriously as it appeared.

See the attached images... the area inside the red is inaccessible while the circle is visible. All icons and keyboard items are affected by the circle. It appears over every app opened.

Thanks for tips it was an app text now floating chat heads somehow glitches i closed the app voila it was gone

I have figured it out. If you switch your phone long ways instead of normal up and down that X will disappear. It's letting you know that that it will not work in the form .So switching the keyboard will then split and you 2 screens will be side by side instead of on top of eachother. Feeeew.. haha

So this just happened to me it freaked me out because I am being tracked by my boyfriend in my car. So I was worried that he had done something to my phone as well. However I do have a pixel 5 and though none of this was related I read through the responses as things to do to solve the problem I do have text now but I've never used it and my son downloaded it to my phone so I knew that wasn't the problem. I do have Google translate a rare if ever do I use it so I knew that wasn't the problem. Then I read the turning your phone from vertical to horizontal I tried it instantly it was gone so thank you today you're my hero and I'd say try this before trying anything else guys.

This has been happening lately on my z fold 3. Thought it was some update that happened recently causing it. For me it appears in the center of the display and nothing in it's area responds to touches. I've been restarting the phone to get rid of it. I'll try this next time and update here. It would be nice to know what's causing this so whatever it is can be un-installed or disabled.

I'm having this same issue and here looking for answers- but when i turn mine longways the X is still there 😞

After all these years this problem still exists and nobody knows why. It's really annoying.
