Im curious as to how much the average N10+ user is storing on their device?

Wondering if the decision to reduce base storage was predicated on median storage consumption.

Gotta N10+? Share your storage screen.

Im at 200 and change.

Not a N10 but here's my current storage usage. More than 350GiB! If I had more, more storage would be used.

SD: Permanent media storage
UFS: Supplementary permanent media storage (64GiB) + temporary media storage (for shows I download and plan to watch rarely/once, like the upcoming Infinity Train S3, 30GiB) + Game ROMs storage (16GiB), with the rest taken by the system and basic apps.

If there's one thing that should NEVER happen to a Samsung Galaxy Note, it's going backwards and offering less than it offered the year before and that's what causes a so much discomfort each year. The customer says to himself: if Samsung is offering less why should I pay more ? (I remember CHMultimedia who was yelling for his headphone jack).

You might be inclined to tell me that the camera is improved or that the refresh rate is 120 hz on the Note 20Ultra but it goes with the competition, Samsung has no choice, even small competitors are at 90 or 120hz ... same thing for the camera. As for the screen, we stretched to the 7th generation of Gorilla Glass, so you have to have it.

I would have liked that Huawei was still in the race and that this !/$?%/$  of Trump did not put an embargo on Chinese products. Currently, we really only have 2 choices if we want a product that stands out, either Apple or Samsung. If Huawei was still around, we would have had a real run and lower prices. If you hate Apple, what's left as a valid choice? NOTHING ... So Samsung can sleep on its two ears and raise prices as it wishes. Who cares?

In fact I am not sure that the question arises because it is a question of looking at the evolution and the size of the Android applications which are growing visibly to realize that 128 gigs will soon be limited in just 2 years for a smartphone. So YES I think the Note 20 should have had 256 gigs of internal memory but that's only my opinion ...

To answer your question,
Just look at the growing number of people who are complaining more and more about the lack of space on their 64gigs tablet or phone ... so the next generation that will run out of disk space will surely be those who will only have 128 gigs on their devices, so why Samsung did put only 128 gb with Snapdragon version ?
2015 Note 5 32 GB RAM 4 GB, 64 GB RAM 4 GB, 128 GB RAM 4 GB
2016 Note 7 = 64GB RAM 4GB
2017 Note 8 = 64GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 6GB RAM, 256GB 6GB RAM
2018 Note 9 = 128GB RAM 6GB, 512GB RAM 8GB
2019 Note 10+ = 256GB RAM 12GB, 512GB RAM 12GB
2020 Note 20U = 128 GB RAM 12 GB (USA, CANADA), (regression) 256 GB RAM 12 GB (Europe Exynos version), 512 GB RAM 12 GB

By the way, since the Samsung Cloud was transferred to Microsoft Onedrive, many must have found themselves in the same situation as me and had to buy a subscription because 5 gigs from Microsoft was not enough if we had already made previous backups on this cloud , so as long as you buy some Cloud space, you might as well take advantage of it and transfer my documents, photos and other backups to Onedrive (already I had 40 gigabytes of backup on Google Drive), it makes space on my Note10 + while waiting for me to rearrange everything. (Before cleaning I must have 110 gigs on my internal space)

Thanks for reading my novel.

Who cares ?

2015 Note 5 32 Go de RAM 4 Go, 64 Go de RAM 4 Go, 128 Go de RAM 4 Go
2016 Note 7 = 64 Go de RAM 4 Go
2017 Note 8 = 64 Go 6 Go de RAM, 128 Go de 6 Go de RAM, 256 Go de 6 Go de RAM
2018 Note 9  = 128 Go de RAM 6 Go, 512 Go de RAM 8 Go
2019 Note 10+ = 256 Go de RAM 12 Go, 512 Go de RAM 12 Go
2020 Note 20U = 128 Go de RAM 12 Go (USA, CANADA), (régression) 256 Go de RAM 12 Go (Europe Exynos version), 512 Go de RAM 12 Go

Merci d'avoir lu mon roman

wow... do ya feel better for getting all that off your chest? lol

To begin, I dont think I saw an actual answer to the thread question as to how much storage you are using after a year of use on the N10+? I presume it's less than 128.

Next, I dont see you mention anywhere the expandability of Ultra to 1tb...or 1.128tb

I'd like more on board memory as well...but if the concentration of legacy users aren't close to 128, then it makes more sense to invest into other improvements. Its not regression if its not used...its redundancy...a redundancy that is hedged by expandability.

Every year, and especially on this forum, it seems people like to fester on one or two changes, while failing to embrace the totality of all the positive enhancements.

I'll be lapping up most of these improvements because aside from gaming, I drive the hell out of these Note devices.

Samsung Note integration with MS OneNote? Awesome, I use both every day.

Ability to voice record a meeting with simultaneous note taking mapped to hand writing? I cant even do that on OneNote for mobile...awesome I'll take it

Wireless Dex? I havent had a personal laptop for a few years now...now I can do without wires too?...done

Camera and video suite that will walk my Note10+? ...sold

glass encasement that walks my N10+ on scratch resistance and drop? ... take that all day long

refresh rates that double my N10+? ... sure ill take that too

1500 Nits for sun scrolling? I'm in...

865+ snapper, spen latency improvements, spen gesture improvements...on and on...

and with all of these benefits, you are stuck on 128gig of on board memory that can be expanded as if somebody just picked your pocket..

I get it... thats your opinion and nobody can deny you that... for me, although I'd much prefer to have 256... its not the hill to die over
