Hello

So I've been trying to follow this rule. Charge when 20, disconnect when 80.

But I realizes that 20-50 is fast charge enable, which means I do fast charge more often. We know that extra heat from it reduces battery life. I need fast charge.

So best to do 22-99 rule? Last % takes forever.

Does it really make a difference? I charge at off times...sometimes it's 20..others 37%

is that bad for the battery? I always wait until 100% tho..

Doesn't matter to me. As long as the phone works. Also, with the wireless charging, I leave the phone charging all night and the battery still in good condition.

I think depends on how long you want to keep. If you want your battery last for 5-6 years, stick with the charging rules. But I realize that I am changing phones almost each 1-2 years, I just charge the phone when I am close to the charger. It does not make huge different after 2 years even charging the phone frequently. At least I don't see huge different. Just my thoughts and experience.

I think it's silly. battery degradation happens regardless...I think the effort you're putting into this wouldn't prolong the battery life that much... nothing you'd notice anyways. otherwise manufacturers would pre program those charge/discharge cycles based on those findings

@carr0498 @Tallman Exactly! I've still got my 10 year old Skyrocket - Certainly the battery isn't in it's prime - But I charged it whenever & left it on the charger for extended periods of time - After 2 or 3 years many people have likely replaced or just bought a new device & worst case scenario - buy a new battery if it's required.. 🐧

I get a new phone every year, year and a half. Couldn't care less about battery health. The amount it degrades is so little that your battery will last 4+ years with decent charge levels.
