Hi all,

I have a Galaxy S10, and after upgrading to Android 11, the adaptive brightness doesnt work anymore. Basically, the brightness doesnt change and stays the same.
Anyone knows how to resolve this issue?

Try the following after S10 upgrade.

Power off your phone
- Press and hold vol up, Bixby key and power key until you are in recovery mode
- use vol up and down to navigate
- select Wipe Cache Partotion
- press power key to confirm
- click yes
- click reboot system

Monitor the adaptive brightness if it is working properly.

Unfortunately, Tallman's solution didnt work and after two days the sensors are not working again

After 2 days, the problem is back. The adaptive brightness is once again broken. Indeed, all the sensors are broken (rotation of screen doesnt work, proximity sensor doesnt work, etc).
I had to take away Tallman's comment as a solution since it didnt provide a permanent resolution.
Does anyone else know how to fix the issue of sensors not working?

That's no problem.

2 suggestions here:
- Go to safe mode and test if the problem still exist.

To get into safe mode, hold the power button until you see power off icon. Press and hold power icon until you see safe mode icon.

- lastly, if safe mode still have problem,
I would suggest you do a factory reset for your phpne. Just use SmartSwitch do a full backup. Some apps may not backup bu SmartSwitch, like Whatsapp.

Hi Tallman, I went to Safe mode and the sensors worked fine. However, when I restarted my phone again (to boot to normal mode), the sensors are working fine again, meaning that the action of restarting the phone may have solved the problem temporarily. I am assuming that the sensors will break again after a couple of days.
