Hi, this app is shown as disabled in my list ''Show System App". Both buttons "ENABLE" and " FORCE STOP" are in Grey. I cannot Re-enable it. What are the impacts/ consequences?  Thanks.

Hi,

it's weird, i realize that this app can be uninstall in Play store but only disabling in apps section on the phone.  Check if you can also uninstal it in Play store like me and uninstall it.  Recheck for update after that in Play store and if possible reinstall it.

Hi 400youvillezn,

Samsung is aware of this phenomenon which may appear on Galaxy devices due to Google WebView issue and this problem was already resolved with the latest app updates of Android System WebView and Chrome, 89.0.4389.105 version.
Therefore please update these apps to the latest version on following steps and restart the device.

- How to update apps to the latest version

Android System WebView : Settings > Apps > Search WebView > Tab Android System WebView > App details in store > Update
Chrome: Settings > Apps > Chrome > App details in store > Update

Note: If the Update menu is not available, please tap the Enable button to activate app update.

Additional guidance for users who installed an Android System WebView Beta version in their device.

If users installed Android System WebView Beta in their device, they should manually uninstall updates of Beta app on following paths.

Uninstall WebView Beta updates : Settings > Apps > Search WebView >Tab Android System WebView Beta > Tap more (three vertical dots) > Uninstall updates
And then please do updating official WebView app to the latest version.

You can also follow the suggestions provided by Bruno_V and check if it works.
Thank you Bruno_V for your information.

Hi Halston,

Thank you for the steps.
CHROME: I can see that I already got the updated version you indicated here. So it's OK.
However it's another story for the "SYSTEM WEBVIEW "app. I got a big problem.
ANDROID SYSTEM WEBVIEW app: I went in Settings > Apps > but WEBVIEW is nowhere to be found, neither ANDROID SYSTEM WEBVIEW . So it's impossible for me to perform all the steps you suggested!
Is there any way to reinstall this app? Or it doesn't matter that I don't have that app at all?
