Hi, I got suggestions "How to steps" to find this app and update. They don't help: I followed all the steps, but it's nowhere to be found in my cell under Settings,  Apps. I was told that it's under Webview,  but I don't have that Webview app neither! All I have is that Android System Webview exists under "Show system app" with the button "Enable " is in grey. So I cannot enable it, nor update it. Please help, thank you in advance for not repeating the same steps that didn't work for me.

Did you follow the steps in Samsung Members Notifications?

You might want to say what phone & Android version you have.

You need to go to Settings→ Apps → Chrome → 3 dots on top right → Uninstall updates

Then Go to playstore, do an update for all apps, Chrome should be one of them.

On older smartphones, it is likely that you are unable to update Android System Webview and the app is disabled. You must therefore follow the following steps:

1. Open Settings.
2. Touch Applications.
3. Then on Chrome.
4. Disable Chrome.
5. Open Play Store again and search for Android System WebView. You should now be able to update it.
6. After updating, open Settings.
7. Select Applications.
8. Search for Chrome.
9. Activate Chrome again.
10. Open Play Store again.
11. Find Chrome and then tap Update (if the update option does not appear, it means the latest version is already installed).
12. Finally, restart your smartphone.

Hi,
My cell is an old one: Galaxy S6 Edge. It's working good until the late crash, which had already been solved.

Excuse me, but when I touched the 3dots in "Chrome"> "Uninstall update" , I got: " Replace this app with the factory version? All data will be removed".
What data are we talking?
I don't wish to loose any data, so I didn't go ahead.

When I touch on Chrome, then touch Disable Chrome I got this message: "Disabling built-in apps may cause errors in other apps".
One question: do I absolutely have to re enable/ update Android System Webview? What if I don't update it?

Thanks a lot for responding and nicely guide me through.

Hi again,
I just discovered that under "Play Store", "My apps & games" : Android System Webview is shown as Recently updated.

It is located under "Settings " > "Apps" > 3dots - "Show system apps" with the mention " Disabled" in grey.
It is not listed under "Settings ", "Apps".

How could it be possible that the app is Disabled and Updated ?

Thank you for your assistance.
