I have a galaxy s21 and the Google app always seems to be eating the battery in the background. I reset it and it's fine but when I update it and add the hey Google assistant feature it goes back to destroying my battery. Is the device care battery usage accurate ? Any tips or reasons this could be happening.

I know the Hey Google feature should cause some background drainage but my numbers are always outrageous.

Hi Abdullah457,

You can try turn off the Google Assistant and see if it helps.

Under "Search and Assistant," select Google Assistant. Turn "Ok Google" on or off.

Yes, I too had this issue on my S21 Ultra and so uninstalled the Google app update, restarted the phone and turned off the assistant. I don't use Google assistant much and so I turned it off.

Hi, I have a S21 Ultra and I face the same issue. I havent found any resolution yet.

If the solution is to disable Google Assistant, that doesn't work for me as I use Google Home to control my home lighting.
