hi,

before last week, i was able to go to sleep with my phone unplugged at 100% and wake up with it at 95%. recently, i've been waking up to 75%, and i need to carry around a charger with me during the day because of how bad the battery has become. help? battery optimization does nothing! (i also assume this has something to do with the new update, but it didn't happen until a few weeks after i updated).

issue two is an issue with my notifications. they'll show up maybe 3 minutes after something was posted, and when i click on the notification, the app will open minutes later. this started happening at the same time my battery life started deteriorating.

any feedback would be appreciated!

Try deleting some apps and freeing up some space. After restart your phone (Hold down power button and press "Restart"). Check your battery usage in Device Maintenance in settings, check what app is draining your battery.

Hey @itsukoii, regarding the fast battery drain, we've also been noticing some users with the same issue after the update. Samsung is currently looking into this so we would appreciate your patience. In the meantime, make sure that you're stopping apps in the background that aren't important, you've turned off auto brightness and have manually lowered the screen brightness, and that Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, LTE + GPS are all OFF unless you're using them. Additionally, ensure that power saver mode is ON. As for the notifications, go into your settings, apps, storage, and then hit clear cashe. If it's an app like Facebook, you can also go into app notifications and then turn off the 'allow notifications' and turn it back on.

Nick to be frank, let's just buy a flip phone... after update on s8+ my battery going almost to 40 degrees on charging and it is not happy camper in holding time either. just an FYI turning a $1000 phone in a $20 phone from 7-11 doesn't produce good vote of confidence
