Galaxy S1. Use Basic Colour mode.
2. Turn off Auto Sync. Apps will still sync your data when you use them, so constant sync in the background is bad for battery.
3. Higher channel such as, 5Ghz will use more battery.
4. Try Samsung's Battery Saving or Optimised mode.
5. Auto brightness will also use more battery if the phone experiences frequent changes in lighting condition. I usually set it to off when at home.
6. Turn off mobile data for apps that really don't need it.
7. Use Samsung Members Auto Diagnose feature to diagnose and optimise your device. It works really great.
