Whenever my Tesla is just within range (going to the gym, parked not too far away for example) my Bluetooth turns off and back on. This is very annoying when trying to listen to music. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Sounds like your Bluetooth is winking at Musk 😁

I wish it would stop lol. My guess is any Bluetooth device just within range would cause this, though I haven't tried with anything else. That's not a bad thing to test out actually

But seriously, Bluetooth shouldn't be trying to connect with any other Bluetooth devices, unless it's previously been Paired with it.

You can Long Press on the Bluetooth Icon & see what devices it is Paired with, and available devices with which it hasn't been Paired with.

I know that with my Bluetooth devices, it will automatically connect when in range, or in the case of my Earbuds, when I power them on.

I'm not sure why yours "winks" with your car.. it could be a Setting in the car's Bluetooth, so I'd double check it.

When you get close to the car, it connects to be able to automatically unlock the door. Think of it like getting back in range with a headset that was left on. From what I'm reading online, some others have also had this problem where the Bluetooth turns off and back on if they have a speaker that is little out of range. Because I'm relatively close to the car, I can see it connecting and disconnecting. This probably triggers something with the Bluetooth, maybe it thinks the connection is bugging, and so it forces a restart of the Bluetooth. That's my guess anyway. But this wasn't always the case.

Don't know about the Bluetooth in your Tesla, but you could try going to Settings on your phone & Search for "Reset" and Reset the Network Settings on your device. ⚠️

You'll need to know your WiFi passwords & Pair your Bluetooth devices again.

See if that works for you?

Hi DavidDube,

Along with the above steps by RedDogRabbit to perfrom Reset Network settings. You can also try forgetting and re-pairing your Tesla in Bluetooth settings, update both devices and see if it help to stabilize your Bluetooth connection.

Thank you.

Hi Helenna. Thanks for reaching out. I've tried forgetting and repairing the Tesla multiple times without success. I also followed RedDogRabbit's steps yesterday but that wasn't successful either. Although I did notice that the Tesla app still had my phone saved for "Phone key" to unlock it, so I may try wiping the Tesla app completely next.

Yeah, Resetting Network Settings, should be exactly the same as "Forgetting".

Trying the same thing with your car's Bluetooth is a good idea 👍🏻

The thing is there's the Bluetooth connection for the music and then there's the Bluetooth connection for proximity to unlock the car. Resetting my network settings did remove the music connection but not the unlocking setting for some reason. Though I've disabled that along with the music multiple times to no success. I'll do a full wipe of the app and report back after my next gym visit.
