Stop!

TWRP Recovery is not available on the Play Store, it's only available from twrp.me

The app on the Play Store isn't the TWRP Recovery software that would allow you to boot into Recovery.

You won't find OEM unlock on Snapdragon phones with a locked bootloader.

It really sounds like you should not be attempting to do what you are trying to do. You need to have a lot more knowledge than you apparently have.

The Canadian S9 still has a locked bootloader & if you read the play store description of the TWRP app, you'll see that twrp.me is what is there. The play store app can't do what you're trying to do, boot into a custom recovery.

You can root the s9 but there are limitations & you definitely can't do it using the play store app you are talking about.

You might want to go to xda developers & find out more.

You should also never try to use any of the "one click" root apps, they don't work & are full of spyware.

I just looked into it and when I went the twrp.me site it recommended to download it from the Google play store so I think the Google play store will work

Refer XDA forums and serch for root techniques for s9. you might find something over there. directly rooting from play store does not work as s9 has locked bootloder. you will find proper step by step guide on xda.

Hi hellothereitsyoboyd,

If you want to boot your Samsung Galaxy S9 into the recovery menu. Then please Follow the below steps:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key. Then press and hold the Power key.
- When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
- An 'Installing system update' message will show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.

Please note that the rooting of the device will void the Samsung warranty. Samsung does not recommend rooting the device because it will make the misbehavior of the device.

- if the device was purchased over a year ago, then there's no warranty to void.
- rooting will __not__ make any misbehavior.

I'm curious to know WHY you are trying to do this 🤷?

Maybe with a little more insight into WHAT your wishing to accomplish might spark an idea from someone 🤙👍
