This oreo update has disappointed me and got me frustrated. It has now this feature where if one dismisses/swipes away a notification in the panel, such corresponding app's badge notification also gets removed.

What do I do if I don't remember I had a notification from an app and never reopen the app? How can I still keep the notification badge on UNTIL I have fulfilled whatever the notification is for?

I don't want this feature anymore because it is affecting my efficiency. I have notification badges for one reason - reminding me that I have things to complete.

Yes, I hate Notification Dots (that's how it's called FYI). But they are forced to follow Google's rules for UI and functionalities. Better complain about that on Google Forums abd ask for less controlling OEMs.

This is the most frustrating thing about the Oreo update on my S7. Before the update I could remove my notifications (because who likes those building up?) and the badges would remind me of unread messages. Now clearing the notifications clears the badges, making the latter totally redundant.
