Does anyone know if burn-ins are covered by the 1 year warranty? Or if it isn't, how much would it cost me to get it fixed? I burned my S7 screen... It's not a severe burn and it's barely as big as a fingernail. Tried to look up for similar threads here but I instead got a ton of threads that have nothing to do with burn-ins (what does Good Lock and the NBA have to do with that?). Thanks in advance for any help

I'm almost certain that burn in is covered by warranty. Main reason being it's a hardware screen defect.

Edit: From a numbers game... I've heard prices for screen replacements may be around 200-300 if no warranty.

last time I went for my vibration problem, I asked and they told me screen repairs are 230$ tax included

NBA > Burning Jerseys.
Goodlock > Themes can prevent eyes from burning (reportedly lol).

Reports on Reddit say that burn in was covered under warranty "no questions asked".

Good Luck 🤞

Cool. thanks!

I'll try my carrier first since it's closer to me, but if it is covered then very happy.

Just in case - Arm yourself with as much information as possible (to keep in your back pocket if necessary) 👍

This is honestly the first time I ever get a burn-in. In 6 years of owning sAMOLED phones. If it's covered then I'll be very happy and would restore my faith in companies.

Oh, one more question: Since phones like the S5, S7, A5 2017... are all IP Certified, water damage should theoretically never happen (in the context of the certification's criterias such as clean water, x depth and y minutes). So if water damage occurs, it should be covered no? Especially since on the S7 and the A5 at least it took a prominent role in the marketing. I just want to know what the warranty is really about to be ready

Well - You (and everyone else) might be disturbed by what Ip68 actually means - In spite of the fact that Samsung says that the Devices listed are "certified" it doesn't appear that they provide warranty in the event of water damage....

At least that seems to be the case:

That's true. I'll be careful about that but the only times my phone gets in contact with water is when I have to clean it, when it gets too hot and the hot tub. So I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be any problems in those conditions which are way below the IP68 certification criteria which the phone was tested to be resistant against
