Customization of do not disturb (dnd) settings per notification channels disappeared under one UI 5. Under one UI 4.1, I could customize notification channels regarding do not disturb. Settings, apps, app name, notifications, notification categories and click on a category. At the bottom there is an option to ignore dnd . This is missing under one UI 5.0. has it moved? Seems regressive to remove customization. Can this feature be brought back?

I have other problems with dnd. Apps that are not the exception list still get through dnd to make noise. Also if I add contacts to the exception list, next time I go into settings, they are gone. I think dnd with one ui 5 isn't fully baked.

Yeah I think that you might be right.

I'd added some contacts to the exception to Do Not Disturb, and yup, they aren't there when I go back to check.

I have submitted feedback on all 3 issues. Waiting for oneui 5.1 I guess

If only feedback, was actually "valued" lol

Issue still exists under UI 5.0.1. No option to set ignore dnd by notice category/channel. I checked out someone's pixel with android 13 and the option was there. It was there in Oneui 4.x

On the good side, the issue with with saving contact exceptions and it appears that sms messages are not getting through . Dnd is finally usable but not customizable.

Got a new s24 running oneui 6.1, the inability to change override 'do not disturb' for specific notification categories still exists. The capability was there pre oneui 5.x and for native android (on a pixel). I have confirmed this issue also exists on oneui 5.x and s22, s23 and tab a. I tried to raise a support ticket but it appears that I need to call in.

Do you have any news about this? The inability to set DND override for notification categories along with the new crappy DND interface is creating me a lot of problems.

We need a way to control how notification channels can override DND, and no, adding the whole app on the DND exception list is not an option.

I've found a workaround using the AutoNotification app by joaomcgd (the developer of Tasker) It has a notification categories editor that allows for DND exemptions at the category level! Just open the AutoNotification app directly and it's the 2nd item under Standalone Features (Tasker is not required). It works on my S24 Ultra with Android 14. The free version of the app may work (I have paid) but, it appears that a 7-day trial of the paid version is available on the Play Store.
