This has been happening on and off since I got my S9 in May. I am sick and tired of it. What do I have to do to get this to stop. All of the photos with the exclamation marks are from Christmas morning, which is infuriating that they are gone. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Plus if you do have an SD card and its a cheap brand or not a Class 10 then that's a problem too. ALWAYS back your photos up to cloud...I've learned the hard way years ago. Happy holidays though!

I had a similar issue with my Note9. I purchased a good quality sd card and that fixed it.

I agree it sounds as if your SD card is the issue....
BTW you can get a Samsung 128gb card at Best buy for $39.99 which a good price...

Hi @HeatherB
As the members above have pointed out, if you are saving the photos on an sd card, the exclamation marks on the photos most likely mean the photos are corrupted. You can try using a computer to read the sd card to see if your images can be retrieved.
Also if the photos are deleted from you google photos and there is syncing between google photos and your gallery, when the photos are deleted, they will sometimes appear with this exclamation mark as it can no longer find the photos.
If none of the above explains your situation I would advice contacting your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/servicelocation/) as the issue may be easier to be resolved by physically inspecting your device.
Thanks!
